MLM Leads REALITY LESSON #1:
Today's mlm leads are not the same as they used to be. Why? techology has advanced so much in the last 10 years just about every Tom, Dick and Harry has their own computer.
5 years ago computers still cost well above $1500. The only people who could afford them were educated people with stable jobs. In 2004 you can pick up a computer that is 10 times faster than the ones built in 1998 for less than $500. Used computers can be purchased for less than $200.
MLM Leads REALITY LESSON #2:
For years we have heard all the success stories of people making a lot of money on the internet. Some of these people own professional basketball teams, and others are so stinking wealthy they travel the world YEAR ROUND.
If you were a person who had very little money, lots of time and a computer what would you be doing? Searching the internet looking for the easy buck. Right?
Today's prospects are searching like crazy for that perfect home based business that doesn't cost them any money, but allows them to make huge profits. Reality is setting in with these people and it's not as easy as they heard.
The mlm leads that are generated in 2004 are these types of people and a scattered few, who are sincerely looking to work from home. If your upline has trained you properly then you understand this realization. You also realize this is a numbers game. He who talks to the most people will win.
MLM Leads REALITY LESSON #3:
Either you work your mlm leads to find the diamonds or you pay someone through the nose to generate the exact lead (fresh daily lead) you are looking for. The absolute best mlm lead you can purchase is a phone qualified mlm lead.
This means a trained tele-marketer will have already spoken to a prospect, asked them many questions and qualified this prospect in 4 key areas. To get this type of lead you are going to pay a lot of money. To generate this type of lead the tele-marketer will probably need to dial 50 people to get one phone qualified mlm lead.
The choice is up to you, either you pay for someone to qualify your lead or you can do it yourself. If you do it yourself, give yourself a 30 day window for trial and error. We highly recommend this route.
During this time you will fine tune your mlm phone script build confidence in yourself or you will simply say: "this is way to much work, I am going to look for something that is a little easier. Maybe one of those automated online recruiting systems will be easier"?
MLM Leads REALITY LESSON #4:
Those automated online recruiting systems still work, but you will be floored at how much it will cost to sponsor one new distributor.
I am telling you right now, NEVER base a mlm lead on how much they cost. Instead base the quality of a mlm lead on how much it costs to sponsor one new member. Industry average is about $50 per new member give or take 2 bucks. However using the online recruiting systems the best average in 2004 is roughly $74 per new member. And this is no guarantee that the new member will stick around for 2 or 3 months.
(These stat's are from my good friend who runs a very successful automated online recruiting system).
Remember, some mlm lead sources provide a phone script that works well for that particular mlm lead. Using your phone script might not work to well for these leads. Don't ask me why, but I have seen this time and time again, even with my scripts.
Case in point: Leaders Club leads. I receive 150 fresh daily leads on a monthly basis for free now. The first 30 days I used my proven mlm phone script and sponsored a grand total of ZERO members. My first reaction was (and I am sure yours would be the same): these leads are awful.
Since I get my mlm leads for nothing, I decided to swallow my pride and use their proven mlm phone script. I followed their training outlined in "How to Turn Cold Leads into Hot Prospects". In the next 30 days I sponsored 3 people. If you divide $155 by 3 you will come up with: $51.67 per new member.
Now, I've got some really great news for you, but you might think I am over exagerrating and I am not. I told a good friend of mine about these mlm leads and she gave it a try. Low and behold she called me up 3 days later and told me how "bad these leads were". Since she had a 30 day money back guarantee I told her to try a proven phone script (the same one Leaders Club gave me to) before she cancelled out.
Four days passed and I never heard from her so I sent her a quick email. The main reason I never heard back from her is because she is so busy signing up new members she didn't have time to contact me. Her business exploded and to this day, she is bringing in a new member everyday. This gal knows how to work leads and she recontacted all the leads from her first go round (the ones she told me were aweful) and signed up 5 new members.

#5:
Sometimes it is YOUR approach that will determine whether a lead is
good or bad. I have run across bad leads. I have also run across
horrible leads. However, I am never quick to judge because of the lessons
I learned from Leaders Club.
The only thing that saddens me is: "since I do not pay for these leads, the trianing is worth every penny". However, for others who have to start from scratch leads can make or break a person.
Bottom Line: teach your downline proven strategies that you can personally back up with proof from your own marketing efforts. I now use 10 different people to help me test new sets of leads. Each member will receive 100 leads to test and they can use their own mlm phone scripts. After we test 1000 leads we compare notes and phone scripts.
After we compare notes we divide another 100 leads among the group and half the members will use phone script A and the others will use phone script B. We compare notes again and come up with one mlm phone script. The last phase will be to have all members use the same mlm phone script for another set of 100 mlm leads.
If our numbers average $50 per new member, we deem this a
success. Anything above will be trashed and anything below $50 is gravy and
we keep using them, especially if we can get the cost per new member down
below $50.
***SIDENOTE***
The gal we spoke about above has her cost per new member down to $5. When you see her business you will know why, but what is amazing is, she has more people duplicating her success than anyone we have run into in a long time and that includes all the automated internet systems. NO, she is not using an automated online recruiting system.
